Food Revolution Day

Food Revolution Day

Today, the 16th May 2014 happens to be Food Revolution day, a day that Jamie Oliver has announced to raise awareness of health and the importance of cooking food to keep us healthy.

It’s a call to action, to keep cooking skills alive. We live in a time when time is literally moving so quickly, we are working longer hours, we are consumed by consumerism and technology is moving faster than I can keep up with! As a result, families and singles have less time to set aside to cook, or no longer wish to cook due to a plethora of fast food options readily available 2-4-7.

So what can you do to help? Get cooking! If you have never made yourself a meal, then today is for you.

If you are a Masterchef, today is for you. It’s for everyone, to spread the word about preparing your own meals, using fresh ingredients (sourced locally where possible) and making that small change to keep cooking alive so that the next generation might have a more positive healthy outlook.

Visit Jamie’s Food Revolution page for more details, the link is above.

If you do find yourself getting creative and cook something today, add #FRD2014 to spread your idea on social media.

Thanks for stopping by, THG.
