Tips for managing stress

November 10-16 is National Psychology Week, a perfect time to consider how you handle stress. Never underestimate the importance of taking time out to relax and recharge, so that you are more productive. I know first hand that stress can take hold if it is not managed, this year has been one of my most stressful ever, I’m sure my uni friends will agree! For me, I got through by scheduling in down time and of course quality time with friends and loved ones. Nothing beats a good old laugh.

  1. It’s so funny that you’ve just posted about this as I was talking to friends about this today. I definitely try to make time for myself; to recharge, and to relax. But I often find that I don’t make time when I should. I am planning (as a New Year’s resolution of sorts) to start a flexible schedule to allow for blocks of time for all the things I want to achieve in a month or a week. Now I know I won’t stick to the schedule, but it will be a reminder each time I look at it, to find time for all the things I need to do. I’m hoping that reduces my stress?

    1. Hi Molly and Mama. I think what you have proposed for yourself is wise, and realistic. You have taken the fist step (recognition) then put that into action by planning some time out which is really positive. Thanks for sharing, and good luck with your flexible blocks of time.
